What kind of companies do you work with?
Typically small to mid-size companies (5-100 people) with software systems that have grown complex, expensive, or unreliable. This includes SaaS companies, startups with technical debt, and established businesses whose technology has outgrown their team's capacity to manage it.
How does an assessment work?
An assessment is a 1-2 week deep dive into your systems — code, infrastructure, integrations, data flows, and costs. The deliverable is a written report with root causes identified, a prioritized fix plan, and a cost/risk map. It's designed to give you clarity on what's actually wrong and what to do about it.
What is a fractional CTO?
A fractional CTO provides senior technical leadership on a part-time basis. This includes architecture decisions, code review, delivery guidance, vendor evaluation, and hiring input. It's for companies that need experienced technical leadership but don't have the budget or need for a full-time executive.
How do you price your services?
Assessments are fixed-scope, fixed-price. Fix engagements are milestone-based with clear deliverables. Fractional CTO is a monthly retainer. We'll discuss pricing during our initial call once we understand the scope of what you need.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Most engagements are fully remote. We work with clients across time zones and use async communication (Slack, email, Loom) supplemented by video calls as needed. On-site work is available for clients in the Mid-Atlantic region when it makes sense.
What happens after the initial call?
If there's a fit, we'll scope out the engagement — whether that's an assessment, a fix, or ongoing fractional CTO work. You'll get a clear proposal with deliverables, timeline, and pricing. No pressure, no follow-up spam. If it's not a fit, we'll tell you honestly.
